Mission Statement and Goals:
The mission of FC West is to teach, promote and create a passion for soccer in children ages five through fourteen.  We believe that by providing our children with a positive playing experience for all levels of soccer, both recreational and competitive, we have the best opportunity to achieve this mission.

We will achieve this mission by:

• teaching the laws of the game, teamwork and good sportsmanship
• promoting soccer as a fun and exciting game
• including all communities in Western Washington County
• providing a volunteer network for parents and their children to play together
• organizing recreational teams for balanced competition
• opening tryouts for classic teams
• maintaining the financial stability of the club
• and engaging in community outreach to local businesses, schools, etc.

Club Philosophy:
FC West aims to provide an atmosphere for soccer that maximizes fun and success for young athletes.  We measure success not by wins and losses, but through participation, effort, sportsmanship and improvement.

In the recreational program, scores and win/loss are not tallied.  Young players are encouraged to feel worthy and competent based on the fact that they are playing on a team and pursuing individual and team goals.

We believe that the enjoyment and success of young players is best achieved by supporting what is done correctly, rather than criticizing or punishing what is incorrect.  Although Classic and Premier teams are more competitive, this philosophy still holds true.
